After his exploration of the kosmische territory, Köhn reprogrammed his his brain to dive into another early synth passion of his: minimalism. Drawing inspiration from great masters such as Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Terry Riley, De Blonde recorded four late night 'variations on a theme'. These are pure transcendental improvisations, meditations on minimal patterns and shifting arpeggios.

Musically Gerard Herman started his career with a noise cd-r that he couldn't sell, dropped his carreer and picked it up as the sax and found objects player in Belgium's youngest and most extraordinary free jazz combo Sheldon Siegel.

“All I see is light” is the second release in our brand new cassette series. This c40 captures one of Köhn’s true cosmic healing sessions at the legendary house show venue ‘At Anthony’s’ in Ghent. In this set we hear De Blonde’s weirder side, combining his love for late 70s kraut in more abstract terms with the old school Köhn vibe. Think bizarre repetitive leads, eighties string work, oscillation paradises and other maneuvers in the dark. For those who liked “We need more space in the cosmos”, here he takes his nouveau brain sound even one step further.

Previously found prizing atom splitting feedback through a horizontal guitar, Bridget Hayden’s solo experiments have more lately sought the brooding, layered blues that we find resonating in “An Indifferent Ocean”. A stripped down set up, featuring an out of tune, hand me down guitar, two pedals of similar origin – no delays – and a donated fourtrack port-a-studio found on the street, has converged to form a crafted storm of abyss kicking improvisation.

The three-sided LP “The Shirley Jangle” is a unique collaboration by some extraordinary talents, working under the moniker of The Afternoon Saints, better known individually as Lee Ranaldo, Christian Marclay, Günter Müller and David Watson.

Ernesto González traded the Chavez regime for comfortable living in a dreary place called Waterloo, near Brussels. He picked up the guitar, practiced his Hendrix skills, got introduced to the world of scorching fuzz, demented kraut rock jams, drone lords and kosmik trance and decided he could as well do all that shit by himself.

Ever since his “Bruce Willis” album (Western Vinyl, 2003) Jürgen De Blonde mainly focussed on music for dance and theatre productions. Untill recently when he relived his old synthesizer festish.

We first heard the music of Paris-based Laurent Gérard when he forgot a demo-cdr in the tourvan of Jack Rose last year, and directly became one of our favourite French acts of the moment.

III projects the atmosphere of Jack London and The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog onto a modern world ruled by technology. Devens brings us the most genuine melancholy contemporary pop music has seen since quite some time. This album leaves the underground scenery that is troubled by trends so often far behind and just shows us the pure essence of what Music has to be: raw emotions put to sound.

With his third full album Bram Devens has once again amazed us with a masterpiece. In his usual brain-melting retro-futuristic blues folk, he summons the devilish spirits of Bukka White, Robert Pete Williams and Sleepy John Estes as seen through the eyes of an adolescent Lou Reed.

Jacquemyn is een energieke bassist en beeldende kunstenaar die geregeld samenspeelt met grote namen uit de internationale improvatiescène. De in New York wonende Japanner Tatsuya Nakatani is een inventive drummer die vaak eigen instrumenten bijbouwt om zijn geluid en techniek te verbeteren en daarbij een erg intensief parcours aflegt. Hij deelde al het podium met mensen als Ken Vandermark, Peter Brötzmann, Sabir Mateen, Nmperign... Ook gast Fred Van Hove is geen onbekende in het improviserende jazzwereldje. Al in het midden van de jaren zestig speelde hij samen met mensen als Han Bennink, Peter Kowald, Mani Neumeier en Peter Kowald. Een unieke concertregistratie!

After several hugely impressive concerts, where the visuals from Kurt D\'Haeseleer are almost as important as the music, Guillaume Graux or Tuk comes up with a first cd. \'Proud Princess of a Brand New City\' contains mostly finished versions of the tracks he used the first three years at his live performances.
The main sources on the cd are guitars, most of them so heavily treated that you barely hear it\'s a guitar. Even if it\'s only a beat, it might be guitar. You never know on this record. Besides this, Tuk grabs music from the air, bad tv series, his parents piano he used to play as a child,... Most of the times Tuk starts making his music by modifing an existing song, like a cheap instumental of Diamonds are Forever, or a real guitar song made by his own till nothing is left of the original. Then Graux works on rebuilding the track and defining a new nature of the song. The music of Tuk is full of intensity. You can\'t imagine what he does within a track. When you hear the record for the first time these tracks still hold the memory of a pure pop track. A feeling similar to what you get when you\\\'re listening to Fennesz or Philip Jeck: one of melancholy and utterly beauty.
