Ernesto Gonzalez is a heavy stoner from Venezuela. While working his way through his studies of communication sciences he is also recording heavy psych in his bedroom. His debut lp, which was released through Gipsy Sphinx Records, focussed on thick and smokey drone work. ‘Vallée de Dith’, the follow-up for KRAAK, shows a broader pattern with influences ranging from old krautrock masters to contemporary sound experimentation. These days Gonzalez is mainly composing synth fusion melting together early electronics, library music, hip hop, psychedelia and Suicideism.

Ernesto González ruilde het Chavez regime voor Waterloo in België. Hij nam de gitaar ter hand, oefende zijn Hendrix skills, werd geïntroduceerd in de wereld van fuzz, wahwah, kraut rock jams, drone lords en kosmische trances en besloot dat hij dat allemaal wel in zijn eentje kon reconstrueren. Na zijn debuut op Gipsy Sphinx, is Vallée de Dith zijn tweede officiële soloplaat. Daarop laat hij de drones op het tweede plan en concentreert zich voornamelijk op krautrock work-outs. Deze plaat is een ultieme Zuid-Amerikaanse versie van Neu! en Manuel Göttsching: uistekende riffs, hersensmeltende space synths en far-out hippie meditaties. Waarschijnlijk de beste Venezolaanse plaat sinds Angels Radas “Upadesa”. Een must voor de herbalancering van uw chakras!
