Keiji Haino formed Fushitsusha when he was 26. The band first operated as a duo but soon became a full blown rock band. Now the band is seen as one of the mother bands of the Japanese psych noise rock genre. This scene, that is best documented by the PSF label, was the product of the eastern interpretation of noise rock, kraut and psychedelia. After a twelve year hiatus, the band is finally back to screw your ears.
THE TENSES (usa)
Ever since the early seventies the Los Angeles Free Music society fuels the imagination of both audience and musicians worldwide. Bands as Smegma and Dinosaurs with Horns spectacularly appeared on the KRAAK festival stage in the past and the of one off collaborations with LAFMS members that passed through Belgium in recent years opened many eyes. With their ‘lowest form of music’ it is hard to do anything else. The Tenses are Ju Suk Reet Meate and Jackie Oblivia. With tape, prepared guitar, cornet and turntable they make a blend of free noise, collage music and general spaced-out weirdness. In genuine LAFMS style.
A multi-layered substratum, an organic sound matter shining under a full moon sky. Here music, like some appetizing ground digested by enthusiastic worms, reveals the very nature of compost: a gift from the earth. Featuring members of Buffle, Pacific Games, Cool Brocoli Dj Team etc.
Maan are a young duo from Ghent who excel in the art spontaneous experiment. With bass, guitar, samples, trumpet and keyboards they produce a new set for every gig. Their music chifts from free instant composition, over noise rock to parlando core in Shadow Ring style.
